What is the best method to communicate with each other?

How We Communicate: Our Project Process

Clear communication is the backbone of a successful project. To ensure your design or programming goals are met efficiently, we utilize a streamlined communication workflow.

1. Starting Your Project

The best way to get in touch is through our Contact Page.

  • Initial Inquiry: Most projects begin via email.

  • Free Consultation: We will schedule a phone or video discovery call to discuss your vision.

  • International Clients: We frequently work with global partners via Zoom or Skype to bridge the distance.

2. The Development Phase: Why We Prioritize Email

Once the design and programming phase begins, email is our preferred method of communication. This isn’t just about convenience; it’s about project integrity.

  • Faster Response Times: We can check emails between coding sessions without breaking our “deep work” flow.

  • A Written Paper Trail: Email keeps a clear, searchable record of project requirements, feedback, and technical specs.

  • Efficiency: Dedicated focus on your code means your project is completed faster and with fewer errors.

3. When to Schedule a Call

While email is our daily go-to, we know some conversations require a human touch. We are happy to arrange phone or video calls for:

  • Complex discussions that are difficult to explain in text.

  • Project emergencies.
  • Milestone reviews.

Note: To maintain a healthy work-life balance and stay productive, we are generally unavailable after business hours or on weekends.

4. Our Commitment to You

We value your time and aim to respond to all inquiries within 48 hours. We believe great projects are built on mutual transparency. Whether you have a quick question or need to pause a project for personal reasons, just let us know—we are here to accommodate your needs.

Contact Forms vs. Direct Email: Ensuring You Never Miss a Message

While we love the modern aesthetic of a custom contact form, our agency prioritizes reliability above all else. After years of testing and development, we now recommend using a direct email button by default for new projects.

The goal of your website is communication. While forms look professional, they introduce technical variables that can sometimes hinder message delivery. read more…

The emotional impact of color

The emotional impact of color

Although I have a lot of black in my wardrobe, I love color, and am very inspired by it. I’ll often just see a random combination of vegetables on a stand at the farmer’s market, interior design in the background of a movie, or editorial pages on Pinterest, and I’ll snap a photo or take a screenshot for later reference. When designing for a client, if they have a favorite color, or combination, then I’ll use that as a starting point if possible, and often when there is a professional photo to be used, that will set the tone for the rest of the look and a complementary or contrasting color scheme to be used throughout. read more…
