Macondo Writers
Having worked with authors for years, we were thrilled to be introduced to Macondo Writers—a San Antonio-based collective of Spanish-speaking authors in partnership with Trinity University. While they came to us with an established logo, they gave us total creative freedom to build out their brand’s visual world. We drew inspiration from 1960s South American modernism and the lush, rhythmic style of the Brazilian Tropicália movement. The result is an identity that is part abstract, part botanical, and entirely vibrant.

Visual Identity & Brand Systems
We developed a visual system that celebrates the energy of the Macondo community. By blending bold, psychedelic-inspired patterns with organic botanical elements, we created a brand that feels both historic and fresh. We extended this aesthetic across all their materials—from social media templates to their annual reports—ensuring that every piece of communication feels like a natural part of their story.
Website Design & Development
For the Macondo website, we wanted to provide a clean, organized home for the collective’s work. We used a simple, intuitive layout that allows the bold colors and botanical graphics to frame the content without overwhelming the text. The site is built to be easy for both the organizers and the writers to use, providing a polished digital space that honors their connection to Trinity University and their audience.
Digital Supervision & Performance Management
We handle the technical side of the Macondo digital presence to ensure their platform remains fast and reliable. By managing their hosting and backend updates, we provide the team with a secure environment that grows alongside their community. We’re always available to help with updates or new assets, allowing the writers to stay focused on their craft while we take care of the technology.
