It’s been interesting to watch the evolution of WordPress websites in this industry, especially as it’s become easier for clients to take control of maintaining their own websites if they choose to. While many platforms advertise that building a website is simple, custom WordPress website design is rarely as effortless as it’s made out to be. A professional design and build helps eliminate the steep learning curve—allowing your site to be set up correctly from the start and giving you the confidence to manage updates and content moving forward.
Why We Build Custom WordPress Websites with Divi
There are many WordPress page builders available, and for more than five years we’ve been using Divi to build custom websites for our clients. Like other modern builders, Divi uses grid-based layouts, drag-and-drop modules, and highly customizable design options. This flexibility allows us to create unique WordPress websites tailored to each client, rather than relying on pre-made templates that all look the same.
What Divi 5 Means for Website Speed and Performance
One constant in technology is change—and the Divi Builder is currently undergoing a major evolution. The upcoming release, Divi 5, represents a significant improvement in website performance and speed. We’ve been actively testing the new version and reporting bugs as it prepares for public beta. While many of the technical changes are most relevant to designers and developers, the biggest benefit for clients will be noticeably faster load times and a lighter, more efficient editing experience—all while maintaining the familiar Divi interface.
Preparing Existing and New WordPress Websites for Divi 5
Divi 5 is still being refined and has some testing ahead before its official release. That said, the next phase of this builder is on the way. We’ll begin installing it on existing websites (including our own) to ensure full compatibility with plugins and existing functionality. Once we’ve thoroughly tested it, we’ll start using Divi 5 for new WordPress website builds and eventually recommend upgrading existing client sites if desired. The result will be the same look and feel—just faster performance and a smoother backend experience.
Stay tuned.
