Illustration and Website Development
Diana Renn
I thought that it would be hard to compare to the first site that we illustrated and developed for the young adult and children’s author Diana Renn. It was an animated Flash home page with a Japanese bullet train design to go along with her first book, Tokyo Heist. Since then, Diana has written many more books, and has expanded into children’s mystery writing as well as coaching and editing. For this second site, we loosely based the illustration on her book, The Owl Prowl Mystery, and have a whimsical and dark theme that appeals to both male and female audiences, as well as to other writers who are interested in her services. The site content expands often, and the design is still a favorite.
Branding and design
We created an illustration to appeal to multiple audiences and age groups, tying in Diana’s mystery writing as well as coaching and editorial services. Tweaked the illustration as needed to tie in with her brand.
Website Development
Worked with Diana to organize a large amount of content so that visitors can easily find the book or service that they are looking for. We also created a matching newsletter so that all of her branding is consistent and she can promote her latest books and services, leading back to the site.
Technical Assistance
Diana’s site uses Managed WordPress hosting, which we maintain for her through our affiliate at Biondo Web. One annual price includes the WP software, SSL Certificate, daily automatic backups and basic website security. She updates the blog and other text content and we are available for larger updates.
